Understanding
motivation and weight loss is the key to a successful diet plan.
Whatever your reason for wanting to lose weight
whether it’s for health reasons or a special occasion such as a
holiday being properly motivated will help you to achieve your goals.
Having realistic and attainable goals is very important. 99% of
us are never going to have the perfect body and are more than likely
not going to be happy with one or more parts of our body.
Expecting too much from any exercise or diet plan can cause them
to fail. If after a few months of diet and exercise you still don’t
have the perfect body this can cause you to lose motivation and
think why bother?
Having realistic targets such as dropping a dress size or losing
10 pounds in a month are better because they will give confidence
when achieved and not cause any lack of motivation.
If you have decided to lose weight you already have the necessary
motivation the only problem may be keeping motivation levels high
while on a bland diet lacking in your favourite foods. When dieting
it is important to think about the positive things you have done
and not concentrate on any negative things that might have happened.
When dieting it is important to do exercises that improve strength
and conditioning. Sport specific strength and conditioning exercises
will help to improve strength and flexibility and help to burn off
any excess calories.
If a healthier, slimmer more confident you is not all the motivation
that you need to lose weight try thinking about some of these weight
loss quotes:
Winston Churchill- Never, never, never, never give up.
Anon- Instead of giving myself reasons why I can’t, I give myself
reasons why I can.
Jim Eason- If you want to look young and thin hang around fat old
people.
