| Knowing how to improve
your self-discipline can be very helpful while on a diet or weight
loss program.
Having self-discipline and willpower can help you through those
tough times on a diet when you are craving your favourite food and
get you up for that early morning jog before you go to work.
Many people think that they have little or no self-discipline but
this isn’t true and you can improve self-discipline and build self
confidence by following a few simple tips. First of all start small,
pick something you think you can succeed at and stick to it such
as taking the stairs instead of the lift each day.
Next don’t try to make too many changes in your life at once. Make
one change and keep it up and if after a few weeks you have not
slipped make another change.
When you have a weak moment or feel that you are going to give in
to temptation make sure that you have someone who you can turn to
for support. Simply talking to a friend or family member will quite
often help with the problem.
One way of improving self-discipline is by keeping a diary or daily
journal. By keeping track of all the good things that you have done
and how you felt while you were doing them you will be more likely
to stay motivated when things get tougher.
If you give in to temptation once or twice don’t let this stop you.
A minor slip does not mean that you have no willpower or self-discipline
it just means that you need to try and develop a bit more of it.
Improving self-discipline is essential for any committed dieter.
Engage the imagination by thinking of ways to improve your willpower
and physical fitness and how to release stress tension.
